This is one of my all time favorite gangster flicks. Obviously people don't know it too well though because it's in French. But that just makes it easier for me to own/hang/keep this print so I'm happy.

And for all of you who haven't seen this movie, I EXTREMELY suggest you check it out. I honestly have it up there with the Godfather and Goodfellas. It was nominated for an Oscar and currently holds a 97% out of 145 reviews on rottentomatoes and a 90 on metacritic. Acclaim like that doesn't happen often. Especially for a movie as violent and gritty as this.

Same here. Wasn't expecting anything other than my purchased print (ATB Variant). What a nice surprise, it's a great print for a very underrated gem of a film.

For those that have seen both posters in person which would you recommend? Appreciate the advice.

I have both...love the film...the reg is a little more in your face than the golds of the var - seems to be far more in keeping with Malik's character...they're both nice, but I'd go var every time...

This is probably the only Stout that I would definitely frame. A great film - drymount, a great director in my opinion - and a really non-traditional Stout style as well.

I agree great film. France has a history of great gangster films. I would say some of the best of all time: Rififi, anything by Jean Pierre Melville. I agree the red might be more literally accurate but that is a good point the character wasn't so in your face he was more subdued and patient.
