There are many types of "acid free tape". Many framers use the cheapest form(s) possible, and residue will likely be left when removed (or worse paper loss if not removed properly).

The matting on the bottom of the print is a lot wider than at the top. Other than that, it's nice.
I've used large lineco mylar corners for all of my 24x36 prints and they are great if you are using a mat. I guess tape would be easier, but the corners work well enough I've never really been tempted. No adhesive touching the print with these.questkid32 wrote:I can probably call and have this changed real quick, but I need to know what to have him do instead. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I believe that's called "bottom weighting"The matting on the bottom of the print is a lot wider than at the top. Other than that, it's nice.
Why you guys gotta call my frame fat? :pcestjoel wrote:Also called framing it "heavy", I think. Lolspunkmonkey wrote:I believe that's called "bottom weighting"The matting on the bottom of the print is a lot wider than at the top. Other than that, it's nice.

Correct. This is why people should insist on using the smallest/thinest/most expensive kind. As I mentioned before, the best one is literally like a sticky tissue paper.Codeblue wrote:There are many types of "acid free tape". pay via paypal, use credit card, file dispute at the 20 day mark if suspicious. don't deal with noobs. don't trade with noobs. request feedback ahead of time. there are lots of good people 'round here.
I always do bottom weighing very subtly so you can't tell right away. It's still an excellent frame-up, though.spunkmonkey wrote:I believe that's called "bottom weighting"The matting on the bottom of the print is a lot wider than at the top. Other than that, it's nice.

Had my JAWS print on the wall for quite some time, but I've been waiting for the companion piece to arrive from the gallery
