I met Gary Houston in 2002 before a Phil Lesh show at the Roseland. We spent the entire afternoon before the show in his shop. I tried to buy the original cut for this poster, but he wouldn’t sell it. He was out of the poster. Several months later he emailed me and said he saw a copy in a shop window, bought it back and wondered if I wanted to buy it from him at cost. I jumped at his offer. What a great guy! Ran into him years later in Vegas at the Vegoose festival. Before I had a chance to say anything he said “Hey Steve! I have another poster you might like…” it was another OP Wilco poster. What a great artist and great guy!
