I assume the now ded posterogs did the same thing, no?

I believe you're correct but they had to round up new users. EB already has a large user base. IDK

Create a actual market place like discogs. It would generate revenue and bring in more traffic.
I have brought this up in the past and the response seemed rather generic.
Ultimately, that was/is going to be part of the infamous Upgrade. Right now, we barely have enough people on the Tech Team to keep this place running on a day-to-day basis.

Do you have website experience? Would you like to join the Tech Team?

I wonder if removing all listings prior to 2020 on the ‘For Sale or Trade’ tab might help? Feels like folk get frustrated with no responses to old listings and just give up using the site to work out trades/buys. Might be good to have a reset?

I like this. it'll keep members accountable for their listings by keeping them (somewhat) active.

So, do you have any ideas of "how to get forum activity back"?

wha

Everybody went to Facebook Groups.

Artists running their own groups with exclusive drops. Commission groups churning out tons of posters. And if you don't like the mods in one group, you create your own group where you're the mod.

Not sure how you get them back, outside of Facebook screwing it up on their end. And I'm not really sure what that even entails at this point. Facebook doesnt give AF about anyones privacy and make it abundantly clear when you see ads for things you were talking about yesterday. Nothing is chronological and everything is by their advertising algorithm. You might see a post about a drop the day after the drop the post announces. Its pure fudge and no one there even talks about leaving. :(

That's because everyone is drymounting stupid and easily manipulated and will look back on their relationship with that website someday with large amounts of regret. I'm looking at you too, businesses. Start a discord to engage with your customers instead of forcing them to accept a load of facebook with a smile.

Stockx added shepard fairey prints today. The marketplace idea is great... Ten years ago. I think it's safe to say that for eb, the ship has sailed. The database is great and somewhat unique but the users aren't coming back.

Just spitballing.

Offer up ownership stakes/partnership to all the artists, particularly those with their own website, as well as the various galleries/websites (Mondos /Bottlenecks of the world) in exchange for promoting the site, which could then promote those artists/galleries.

Make the buy/sell feature, or the ability to access the price history information “premium” membership features for a minimal fee OR use EB points to pay for it (if you don’t contribute, you pay; if you pay, you’ve contributed).

Make it the official fan site of HBO’s criminally overlooked The Leftovers. I mean, it’s just such a great show. Sure the first season is a bit of a downer, but once they branched out past the original source material, man, it just shined.

I'm not sure I want a whole bunch of new people around here, I love EB just like it is. BUT, if you're really just trying to drive up numbers - c'mon, the answer is clear. Talk to Joe about a partnership with Bottleneck. 10 EB points = 1 bottlebux! Giveaway threads with every release! A Pollock X Welker collab that benefits EB! Possibilities are endless.

Somehow these are all better suggestions than my "EB x Pornhub" pitch.
