Paywall the sales data. Done.

That's not gonna bring anyone on to the forum though. I don't know that at this point there's a way to actually do that. The gathered momentum built from the site's launch is long gone

Kinda surprised (not really) how little the site makes. I'll buy it for 22k!
Get in line.

Just a few thoughts/responses:

1. Pay to play: Likely, we will only take this route as a "last ditch" effort to save the site. One of the original tenets of EB was that it was to be free for all. I'd like to keep it that way.

2. Selling EB to a private individual/party: This is not likely to happen. After the "changes at EB" a couple of years ago, we amended and restated EB's Articles and By-Laws to include a provision that if EB was ever to be sold, it would have to be sold to a like-minded entity whose underlying purpose/function was educational and informational.

3. From prior data over the years, I think database usage is about 10 times (plus) forum usage.

4. What we need is passionate, selfless volunteers (particularly on the tech side). Everyone "wants" it, but few are willing to step up to actually "do" it.

FYI

From some posts by the few tech volunteers ya have, it seems like their input isn’t exactly weighed dat heavily either.

I'd say that's far from accurate, but I'm certain you'd relish the opportunity to elaborate. So, I'm all ears.

Here ya go:

What? That we wouldn't sell the site to an individual? That's not likely ever to happen, as mentioned above. Or, that we only have a few volunteers who do the bulk of the work? Neither of those should be a surprise to anyone who's been a Member here for more than a day, much less to those who've been a member here for over a decade. So, do you want to volunteer and we'll put you in charge of New Art approval?

Luls. the impression I got was not that the upgrades were contingent on a buyout. If dats the case, then I understand your perspective. What it seems like is dat the people who have “power” on this site are frequently asleep at the wheel while a few other volunteers with very little power keep it running on a daily basis. I am willing to volunteer if volunteers are not being taken advantage of and ignored when it comes to their duties (and allowing them to do their duties more efficiently). Is real change something you’re open to tho?

I'll help moderate The Leftover's forum section when that goes through.

If codeblue volunteers I'll volunteer as well. Happy to throw 30-60 mins at it while my phone is already in my hand every day.

I loved that show and can't wait to watch it again. It was so absurd.
