Thanks to tech team volunteer papaver there is a new and improved form for submitting art to the database. The new form has a streamlined layout and autofill functionality for artist, band, venue, and manufacturer.

Goal of the updated form is to make submitting easier for current members and less intimidating for new members. The autofill should drastically cut down on submission errors which will speed up the approval process for volunteers.

The new form can be found at the usual Add Art link and look for the button on the top right. Below is the old template on the left and the new version on the right

a post was submitted and removed by the user.. to answer it- we're definitely looking into the image size restrictions. as well as file format limitations. to me the biggest win would be allowing multiple images to be uploaded so variants can be submitted all together instead of across multiple submissions

Luls. I removed it cuz of dis in the info section so I thought it was already implemented:

"The image to use. We can only accept images in JPG or GIF format. Please use the best image possible. Processing images is time consuming and you can help by submitting the cleanest images possible. You can submit any size image, but before it gets published it will be reduced to 800 pixels on the longest side. We understand that you may not have the ability to turn in the best images, we still are grateful for your submissions."

Guess that hasn't been implemented then? I figured that meant that there's already some kind of auto-resize feature factored into the submission process.

there is auto-resizing. the limits are on the size of the filesize not the size of the image size as far as i can tell. i think space wasn't so free before. now that terabytes are the norm we can up this a bit...
