If you need to be outraged, call it a scam. I don't think EB admin are scammers. They may have been scammed by some shady webdevs, but that doesn't mean contributors were scammed. Contributors trusted those who were thought to be managing the site update and budget. Something went very wrong with the vendor and now the update seems to have imploded. Could've been avoided but insufficient due diligence was performed on said vendor and contractual terms were unenforceable. Business skills are critical to avoiding a scenario of this sort, a point which might seem rather nuanced to some (and/or their ten year old nephews)

You don't understand. If you understood, you would care.

Ya know, it's all good from my p.o.v. I joined this campaign with eyes wide open. I've contributed quite a bit of money to this site and it has operated more poorly after every contribution.

As someone who recognizes the importance of good business skills, I enjoy living in a world rife with incompetence. The masses feed their anger with spite and shallow invective. Meanwhile, the few competent individuals remaining, those who actually know how to get things done, are compensated royally. Works for me.

The biggest problem is that updates and few and far between. At this point just say that the money was lost to a shady outfit and move on. And for improvements 2.0 involve some EB users who actually have knowledge of such things.
