It was never a print. If you're gonna do "best overall artwork" none of this "lowbrow" stuff that we love on EB should ever be considered for vote.Bikejoh wrote:I think it should be the best artwork created in 2014. Money printing rereleases of older artwork shouldn't be eligible. Didn't it have its chance in 2006?

Basically what needs to be done is ban everyone that voted for LotR to be CPoTY because they obviously thought it was meant to be "My Favorite Artist of the Year." If you don't know how to properly participate then don't participate.

Already sold it so it's useless to me.wonkabars7 wrote:CPoTY could be a handy marketing tool, a line added to those ebay auctions amirite?

This comment has changed my outlook entirely. Most jpegs of prints suck compared to the actual print, I think we can agree, but not on a consistent and regular basis across the many prints released in a year. This means that one cannot judge art effectively based on jpeg images, so the EB voting, which is based entirely on jpegs is essentially meaningless. People are judging based on a hodgepodge of impressions of both jpegs and real-life experiences, which inevitably skews the results. The EB awards have little actual meaning, QED.jjbehren wrote:However, do those people making that argument only vote for pieces that they've actually seen in real life?
Thank you. One less thing to care about.
