3 pounds... What the drymount was in there with the print? That's actually normal. 30"x4" yazzoo mills tube, with thick kraft paper and the print comes to about 2 and a half pounds. USPS charges in tiers 1-2lbs 2-3lbs, etc. So they'll show the upper end of that range on shipping label often times. ...
