Yes, they did mention somewhere that the new sleeves wouldn't be compatible with the Picturesque portfolios. Which is understandable. BN shouldn't be beholden to some other manufacturers design. I'm in the same boat though, it would be ideal to have some new sleeves to fill my older portfolios befor...
