Re: World of Whiskey

Would love to try a Barrel Proof Blanton's someday.

Really diggin the Knob Creek, let it set out for about 20 min and am loving the unique sweetness it has. Like it so much going to grab a single barrel version this weekend.

Re: World of Whiskey

Stepped up from the bottom shelf last night. I have only had one shot of this ever through the years. Just hoping I can call it a poor man's Booker's.

Re: World of Whiskey

Damn nice haul Kid! That had to hit the wallet fairly deep. I still need to bag the OF 1920, this weekends score probably. We have been strictly bottom shelving it for a good while, we have seen yet another across the board price hike on everything. The go to the last several visits anywhere has bee...

Re: World of Whiskey

I don't know much about Ohio's distribution on Liquor or how they decide what goes where. Only thing I really know is the DLC owns all the liquor at all stores until it's point of sale and they can pull back anything at anytime. I kind of doubt the BTAC talk though. TPS which is in Kentucky has comp...

Re: World of Whiskey

Yeah here locally Bookers has went up actually to $73 plus tax. The plus tax thing has me a little peeved. It has always been in Ohio the listed price included all taxes and was the final, actual total cost. Well that has changed the last few months. We cracked open the Taylors small batch last nigh...

Re: World of Whiskey

Sad evening here, just poured my last drink of 4R OESV. My god it is frickin fantastic. I am holding out for the Bookers to go back on sale. It originally was $70, then they dropped it to $47, then the announcement of its "supposed" limited release status and the jack back up to $70. Like I have sai...

Re: World of Whiskey

I believe the bourbon fad is fading a bit. I am finding a lot more now then I ever could a year or two ago. Was in Akron, OH on business and found a store with a complete stock of a lot of things that were just about impossible to track down in the past. 4 bottles of 1792 Sweet Wheat, 8 Col Taylor S...

https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4281/34705663813_b0efc48e60.jpg Was given this as a birthday gift 2 weeks ago. I hadn't cracked it open because I honestly thought it was going to be a bummer. 2 year age statement and fairly light in color through the bottle. Firstly this is the NDP product sold befor...

Re: World of Whiskey

Anybody else watching the mess on facebook unfold with the guy that was refilling/sealing bottles and mostly selling them off in Megas. Probably talking 10s of thousands the guy scammed. Wow. I un-followed all those groups but still belong. There is a net flix doc on a guy who was doing this with w...

Re: World of Whiskey

Was told today by the bourbon guru at TPS that Four Roses has suspended it's Private Barrel program until further notice. So if you are fond of a particular recipe to stock up. All orders already in and in processing will be honored but no further orders.

Re: World of Whiskey

MGP is rolling out their new acquisition by giving something away to those who sign up for a newsletter. No idea what it is but its free. http://georgeremus.com/age-gate/ Not chill filtered. I'm definitely intrigued. If it's half as good as Metze's, I'd happily pay $50-$75 a bottle. MSRP is $44 so ...

Re: World of Whiskey

MGP is releasing it's own bourbon now. They bought out George Remus Bourbon which was a NDP anyway. I have always wanted to try it and now MGP is upping the proof a little so I am going to head to Cincy and find some this weekend. They had interesting variations under the old NDP co so I look forwa...

Re: World of Whiskey

I have never had any of the BTAC. But I do love the Stagg Jr. same here. I saw a bottle Thomas Handy a couple years ago before I got seriously into bourbon. nothing since. I really like the Stagg Jr, but it takes a month to open up after you pop the cork. same goes for most of the high proof stuff....
