Re: World of Whiskey

Recommended by an elderly african american lady on my route. Only thing her father would drink, so only thing she will drink. Good enough recommendation for me.

Re: World of Whiskey

You owe it to yourself to try to find Gold Reserve and the 12YO, if possible. Two complex and enjoyable sippers. 12YO has been discontinued, sadly. The 18YO is like a cordial, it's so smooth and velvety, but not nearly as interesting as Gold or 12YO. They have the Gold for $118, The 18YO for $153. ...

Re: World of Whiskey

Nothing out of the ordinary but a nice stock up. Gonna give the Irish a taste this week, believe it or not I have never had Jameson of any variety. Another Private Barrel of KC, place claims its the sweetest KC they have ever tried so I shall see. 1.75 of Larceny on sale for $40, couldn't turn that ...

Re: World of Whiskey

Nice, big Irish whiskey fan myself nice to see a top shelf Teeling such as that Centenary[/quote]

I tried the new Slane Irish Whiskey at a tasting in Cincy and I kind of liked it. Small sample but it has me thinking of actually buying a bottle for something a little different from my norms.

Re: World of Whiskey

Yeah I have had many, and I mean many private barrel selections over the years. I am a sucker for any Four Roses OE-- recipe. Just have never seen or even heard of Eagle Rare offering private barrels, but ER is fairly hard to get around here.

Re: World of Whiskey

A local bar has a private barrel of 12 year Eagle Rare. I have never heard of a ER private barrel. Want to give it a shot for sure. Looks as if they have bottles for sale if I interpret the instagram shot right. My favorite shop had a barrel of the 10 year (and by that, I mean their own private bar...

Re: World of Whiskey

I love Mount Gay Black Barrel Rum. But yeah Wild Turkey 101 literally has to be the standard for all bourbons. A local bar has a private barrel of 12 year Eagle Rare. I have never heard of a ER private barrel. Want to give it a shot for sure. Looks as if they have bottles for sale if I interpret the...

Maybe try some Crown Royal. They sell a lot of whiskey because it's actually good and very approachable.

Re: World of Whiskey

DEP's has regular Knob Creek that is still age stated at 9 years, TPS was NAS. Of the 7 private barrels of KC all were age stated at 9 years. The High Bourbon Guru JR was not at TPS to give me the inside info on the KC 25th Anniversary, but another one claimed it is "fantastic bourbon, but overprice...

Re: World of Whiskey

Just got the email from TPS, this years BTAC will be a raffle drawing which can be entered in store and random drops on the shelves. Going to take the wife and 2 kids there this evening to enter the raffle. Believe I am going to go with 4 chances on the Stagg, it's the one I would probably like the ...

Re: World of Whiskey

I will look for the older age stated bottles but doubt they are still around here. I am going to a store called DEP's in Covington, KY this evening that has 5 different private barrels. Going to grab a bottle of one described as very sweet. The 25th Anniversary bottles are still around which are 12 ...

Re: The Miss Bugs Parlor

Believe they are preparing for a solo show in London, maybe next year I forget the date. But that is usual, anytime they are having a show somewhere it gets pretty quiet from them for a good 6 months or so.
