Re: Laurent Durieux's Modes of Transportation

I'm more than disappointed that David is failing to deliver on the whole 'person who set up a subscription scheme tryin...

Re: Mondo Poster News & Rumors

Alamo's not going anywhere. I mean, they're part of a big group that helped win the first foreign language best picture Oscar... ...which is an interesting point. With Neon being so closely aligned with Alamo, the point about studios owning theatres becomes a little bit clearer and closer to reality...

Re: Laurent Durieux - Appreciation & Discussion

My issue with Durieux's work is that after Jaws, it seems like a lot of them simply must have an easter egg like image in it (the back of the dress on Days of Heaven, the necklace in the Titanic) which can't help but feel out of place on the print. That Days of Heaven is so nearly perfect, but the f...

Re: Laurent Durieux - Appreciation & Discussion

Titling like this makes me wish Jay Shaw was still around. Dude knew how to do a good title.

Re: Laurent Durieux's Modes of Transportation

David is one of those commissioners that got started at the right time and got fairly organized at starting commissions, but has way too busy of a work life and a family to actually devote the time needed to completing them. So it seems like he checks in once every few months and its just kind of r...

Re: Laurent Durieux's Modes of Transportation

While I wouldn't say he 'stole' from me, I never received a few of the prints I'd paid for back when he was running that commission group. After contacting and trying a few times, I gave up in the end. That was a few years ago. I personally wouldn't do business with him, but that's just me.

When you find a movie to watch on Netflix and when you find the time to do so a couple of days later you can’t remember what that movie was.
Do you... not have a watchlist?

Re: Black Dragon Press

Yeah, they're really doing a great job of pushing out posters for films that rarely get any coverage at all. It's just nice to see a lineup of prints that aren't for the same routine comic book film.

Couple that with the severe drop in art direction that is a result of a certain someone who no longer works there.

Re: Mondo Poster News & Rumors

Indeed, apologies, it was lost in translation.

(FWIW, love Pullin's work, and like this print a lot... just looks distinctly Jay Shaw-esque. Which is a good thing, given he's no longer doing his style, which is a bad thing.)
