Re: Dry point etching

It's probably best to find a studio or school that offers classes. When you create an etching you're working with acids and solvents. Also an etching press and blankets and other gear cost quite a bit of money. You mentioned dry point etching which involves just scratching an image into a plate if y...

Re: Glassine paper and sleeves -- recommendations?

Have a look at Light Impressions and Archival Methods. I think what you're looking for is archival tissue or interleaving tissue. Basically they are sheets of archival (or PH neutral) tissue that you lay over the art to protect it. Buying in rolls is cheaper, but then storing a roll is not as practi...

OBEY doesn't always confirm the purchase. And often when they do it takes time for them to send out a confirmation e-mail. If your Paypal account shows you've been charged that's a good sign but no guarantee if they oversold.

Paypal decided it was time for me to renew my password and to reconfirm my credit card number. By the time I finished it was sold out. I should have thought to log into my Paypal account earlier in the day.

Re: What does this mean?

A litho can mean a few different things. There's offset litho which is a form of commercial printing. Then there are fine arts lithos which can be done using metal plates or stones.

Continuous tone also refers to photography.

Re: Taping foam boards together

Rather than spending money on tape why don't you just buy a new single, larger board?

Re: John & Yoko Canvas 10 Fairey Release Discussion 08/26/10

I am in the same boat too. For what it's worth I have a very low order # (not sure that matters) and got both paypal and obey conf emails... However no shipping notice and def. no print in hand yet either. I'm on the us east coast. It def. is a little unsettling that some have art in hand and i got...

Got mine also and I have to agree. The print looks great but the bottom border is a bit weird. I'm going to mat out some of the excess border on the bottom. But of course Shepard's signature is so big I'm going to end up with a wider border on the bottom regardless.

Seeing the original photo explains the bad hands. It's not Shepard Fairey, Dylan has ugly hands.

Re: John & Yoko Canvas 10 Fairey Release Discussion 08/26/10

The "BUY IT NOW" range is $250 to $375. And there are 2 autions with heavy bidding that have already reached the $150 mark. Now I feel a lot better about my purchase. A true fan! Actually I am a fan. I've purchased quite a few Fairey prints and have NOT sold a single one. They're either on my wall ...

Curious to know why people "X" out the last digit(s) of their order numbers when they post them here?

Mine was 5032X. Do I dare post the last number?

Re: John & Yoko Canvas 10 Fairey Release Discussion 08/26/10

+1 and now the site is sluggish and a quick sell out. That is probably a good sign for the flippers. The demand was obviously high despite people bashing the inclusion of Yoko. Should be interesting to see how high these sell on ebay over the next couple days,

Re: Woody Guthrie 10 Fairey Release Discussion 08/19/10

why are people buying this? not being mean. what's the reason? you like Woody Guthrie, you must own every Obey print or you just like the print itself? I'm a Woodie Guthrie fan. Also a Neil Young fan and I was really pleased with that canvas print. And I like this image (aside from the large border...
