Re: World of Whiskey

I experimented with my first recipe recently: Poor Man's Four Grain. The recipe floating around online calls for Weller Special Reserve, Old Grandad 114, and Eagle Rare. However, a friend suggested using Weller Special Reserve, EHT Small Batch, and Weller Antique. Let it sit for 30 days and voila. ...

Re: World of Whiskey

Thanks for the info jjbehren. Tried Calumet 15 for the first time yesterday and I wasn't overly impressed. Glad I didn't pay the price tag on it ($125) but I heard the 14 was a better batch. I haven't tried any of them, but I know that Rutledge didn't have anything to do with Calumet, so I wouldn't...

Re: World of Whiskey

I'm sure Blue Run is good, but it's basically just 1792 12 year with an extra year or two on it, as it's almost certainly sourced from Barton. It's even the same proof as 1792. Jim Rutledge (of 4 Roses fame) picked the barrels, and he clearly knows what he's doing. So, like I said, I'm sure it's goo...

Feels like a Dickel kinda hump day. First time trying out the 8 & 12 years (and that 15 is delicious and at a great price point).
I hate to be that guy, but those 8 and 12s are not years. Those are not age-stated.

Re: World of Whiskey

Trying this for the first time as well and I enjoyed it. Didn't love it but enjoyed it more than the Bowman SiB. However, this was a store pick from Total Wine so I am curious how much that factored in to it compared to the regular swill? Russel's private selections can vary wildly. Don't let the T...

Nulu is a barrel proof youngish mgp bourbon. If it's like other barrel proof mgp I've had, I bet it is good

Has anyone here tried the Heaven's Door Bootleg series? My shop has them for less than MSRP if I want them. But they are still super spendy. The packaging is amazing was just curious if the booze itself is any good
It's just old Dickel. Not worth it.

Prolly shoulda tried on obeys site. They seemed to take a couple minutes to sell through. Greens were much more popular (as they should have been).

I went with red on Ernesto's site. Pretty sure I got one. Only have the PayPal receipt email so far though
