I think that the variant lucasfilm proof edition has the wrong artwork. should be the variant gold.

I have a friend who is thinking of making some of the prints of the fake flyers found in HalfLife and some other really old video games for sale. Not sure where that would fall. It's like, exploiting the fake creativity within a franchise without using the actual logos and trademarks of the outside ...

I always wondered this about copyrighting and printing. Lets say that an artist wanted to make a print based on a video game. He then goes on to sell that print for 10$ each on a run of 100 prints. Does he have any obligation to give any of that money to the company that originated the game? Does he...

No don't think so. they sold them via their website and had a set amount of each.

Theres a difference in that db has made nothing original himself. he has not established himself as an artist in any way that I can see, other then taking the best of a few favorite artists and sticking them together tastefully.
