Re: World of Whiskey

I have heard the Four Roses Single Barrel is excellent. I am going to have to pick that up at TPS, it was $48 at Arrow Wine last week. They just raised the prices for Four Roses about a month ago... You can prolly get the Single Barrel for $40 though. I still prefer the small batch but it is a welc...

Re: World of Whiskey

Recent purchases: Balcones Brimstone : Pretty awesome stuff & definitely different.  The premise is that it is "smoky" american whiskey (an American version of an Islay scotch), however the smokiness is more of a mezcal smokiness as opposed to a scotch smokiness... very pronounced though.  Will buy ...

Re: World of Whiskey

I have never had Willett anything... They just don't carry it in my area. I'm thinking about taking a trip down to Covington/Newport, kY and picking up some of their bourbon as I have heard nothing but good things.

Re: World of Whiskey

I did Buffalo Trace and Four Roses... Originally was going to also do Woodford and Wild Turkey, but everybody I was with got antsy and we went to the Bluegrass Tavern instead (bar that carries hundreds of bourbons). All if these distilleries are around the Lexington area.

Re: World of Whiskey

Just picked up a bottle of Willett 2 year rye. Hoping it's good! It's the first Willett rye that the business has made themselves in a long time. Distilled, aged, and bottled on their site in Bardstown, Ky. Even though the stuff they were previously selling under their name was sourced hooch from M...

Re: World of Whiskey

Not a fan, but I wouldn't say that I downright don't like it. It is smooth. But generally I'm looking for flavor first and foremost, not smoothness. That's how you got me interested in Laphroiag in the first place, cadeallaw! I heard one critic say that the biggest taste difference between scotch a...

I use to cop two or three MBW prints one to keep and the rest to trade and flip. but i stopped that too, now im just selling all my mbw prints to recoup on all the money i spent and pay bills. I hate his team so i refuse to buy from him since he refuses to speak to me d...

Re: Audiophile discussion

I have a Rega P3-24 that I've been using for a long time that I was happy with but got the itch to upgrade so I ended up buying a VPI TNT Jr table with some fancy cart. It's huge and weighs a ton and it took forever to setup (VPI's unipivot tonearm is crazy precise). Been playing it most of the day...
