Re: EB Entry Corrections Part 3

expressobeans.com/public/detail.php/179697 Hi nobody - thanks for adding the corrections so promptly. I see there are two corrections that need to be done, due to my inexperience at this: 1: under "technique" I should have added that it is "offset lithography" not photocopy that was there before fro...

Re: Grateful Dead Workingmans promo 70

In my previous post I mistakingly stated that Stanley Mouses's usual partner, Alton Kelley, also worked on the 'Workingman's Dead' artwork.
In a recent interview with Mouse I just read he states that he alone created the artwork for the album cover and promo poster.

Re: EB Entry Corrections Part 3

http://expressobeans.com/public/detail.php/37141 This entry is incorrectly identified as both a "1st" and "official". The poster pictured and described is actually a bootleg that was widely available in the 1980s at headshops and used record stores. I've added two images of an authentic and original...

Re: Grateful Dead Warner Bros promo 71 Mouse Kelley

I've attached a close-up photo of the tiny white "PRINTED IN U.S.A." credit in the right bottom corner of my copy of this poster.

Re: Grateful Dead Workingmans promo 70

I've added a photo of the authentic 'Workingman's Dead' promo poster from 1970. The size is 31.75" x 24" on medium thick "brown paper bag" type paper. There is a tiny "PRINTED IN U.S.A." credit in black in the right bottom corner (I also added a close-up of that). Stanley Mouse (the creator of the a...

Re: Doors Country Joe Santa Barbara 05 / 67 Haynes

Hi wi, If you would like to do some important research on this poster you could go to Jim Salzer's website and buy one of his reprints of this Doors poster to compare to your declared original. It would cost you approx. $30. including shipping but your findings could be invaluable to the rock poster...

Re: EB Entry Corrections Part 3

I don't know what year (or years) is correct for the reprint(s) of this Doors poster. It is known that Jim Salzer reprinted most, if not all, of his posters over the years, starting long ago. I can't think of any reason why this Doors poster would've been any different. At any rate, I don't know who...

Re: EB Entry Corrections Part 3

http://expressobeans.com/public/detail.php/171196 I hope this is the correct way to request a change in a poster's description, my apologies if it is not. I don't believe the 2008 is correct for the reprint version of this poster and should be deleted. This poster was likely reprinted long ago (and ...

Re: Doors Country Joe Santa Barbara 05 / 67 Haynes

I'm not sure why the 2008 date for the 2nd printing is posted on this site. I don't know for a fact, but would guess that this poster got reprinted way back when the other posters were reprinted. Who knows, maybe there has been even more than one authorized reprint of this Doors poster by Jim Salzer...

Re: Doors Country Joe Santa Barbara 05 / 67 Haynes

Yes, the common reprint is printed on very thin paper with a "pebbled" texture. I've never seen an original so I don't know what kind of paper they were printed on or any other characteristics. I've been asking around for years and haven't found anyone who can tell me how to tell the difference. Let...

Please note that it is very important to add that the reprint is printed on paper stock with a textured or "pebbled" surface".
All of the ones I've seen sold recently online as originals have been described as being on this type of paper.

Re: Doors Country Joe Santa Barbara 05 / 67 Haynes

Buyers of this poster should be aware that it was indeed reprinted, as were most if not all of the other Jim Salzer posters. As of this writing, May 11, 2013, the reprint is available along with many of the other reprints on Jim Salzer's store website. For some reason, sellers repeatedly claim this ...
