Re: The Official Horror Movie Thread

Watched Get Out last night and really enjoyed it; there's a lot to unpack in that movie (culturally, socially, racially, etc.) and Peele definitely wears some of his influences on his sleeve. Definitely one of the most satisfying horror movies I've seen in a while. Movie is even better upon 2nd vie...

Re: The Official Horror Movie Thread

I had high hopes for Verbinski's A Cure for Wellness that is coming out this weekend, but early critic reviews do not seem to think too highly of it. Only at like 33% on RT. The ending completely ruins the movie. Would've been much more impactful ending 20 minutes earlier. It's visually beautiful a...

If you have a minute, feel free to watch the bumpers I made, with some major help from my nieces, for the Fantastic Fest Bumper Contest (horror movie related). Both are under 35 seconds. If you enjoy either, click the blue “Like” box above the video. It’s really easy, and you can "like" both if you ...

A lot of promising horror (and thrillers) announced for Fantastic Fest recently. Most excited for: Bone Tomahawk http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2494362/?ref_=nv_sr_1 Green Room http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4062536/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 High-Rise http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0462335/ The Invitation http://www....

Re: The Official Horror Movie Thread

The Guest is now on Netflix. More of a thriller...but has a great October/Halloween vibe. Bad marketing and completely undersold, really good flick and a damn good soundtrack. Always recommend from last year, along with What We Do In The Shadows. Yes. What We Do in the Shadows is so damn funny. So ...

Re: The Official Horror Movie Thread

Mark Duplass makes such a good creep...in Creep. I'm not sure if this was intentional, but it's almost as if he was mocking how easy it is to make a found footage horror movie. I didn't think this movie was anything amazing, but I guess it accomplished it's goal: jump scares, Duplass being a real we...

Re: The Official Horror Movie Thread

This week I rewatched a few movies that I haven't seen in years: Martyrs, Frontier(s), and High Tension. I remember liking Martyrs and Frontier(s) when they came out, but I wasn't feeling them this time around. My tastes have changed, I guess. (Mild spoilers ahead) Martyrs includes some good stuff, ...

Re: Francesco Francavilla Thread.

Does anyone know the edition size of his Jaws print? I don't recall seeing that anywhere. There are 2 different FF Jaws prints. The 24 hour timed release is the new one with the tag line/actors on it (posted on last page). The one you posted (above) is from 2012. Both are 13x19. I have no further i...

Watched this the other night. Fun for a one time watch. I enjoyed the old school look/feel of it, but man, it was short. I felt like it was over before anything really happened. Still fun though.
