Re: 2020 Elections - A New Hope

I have not read the decision yet, but to be fair to the Court, from what I understand, they ruled it's not a Federal Court issue, which, fine. They left it to the states. I'm typically pretty progressive, but I also believe strongly in states' rights. The problem is the states are already so gerryma...

what difference does it make . . . American Democracy just died: https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2019/06/the-supreme-courts-gerrymandering-ruling-is-a-doomsday-scenario-for-voting-rights/ RIP. Re: Amazon Prime Streaming

Thanks to everyone on the great recommendation of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Tried to watch Fleabag but with her narrating every little thing we didn’t make it very far into the first episode. Might have to give it another go. Fleabag is top-5 shows for me. Very good. You know what's crazy? Fleabag...

Don't know how many colors The Halting Commons had...so many different editions I know it's me being a bit of a stickler, but IIRC the different editions were technically of The Governor (listed here as the "Megafauna Edition"). You'll notice that only the "Regular Edition" has the THC logo. That b...

Re: America: The Trump Era

If this is not upheld, this will mean we literally live in a LAWLESS country where the Constitution (and the powers vested by it) means nothing. Agreed. I always knew we'd face a constitutional crisis at some point during this presidency, but I was guessing it was going to be after Trump's second t...

Re: Game of Thrones

my biggest gripe about last night's finale . . . Tyrion says he has had "weeks" to think about who should be king, so it wasn't years that passed when that meeting happens, but somehow, Winter is already over! I assumed that was the ash from the nuclear fallout of the dragon attack, not snow. Prett...

Re: Game of Thrones

But, I'll agree that Cersei's death seemed too good for her. And Mountain v. Hound was kind of underwhelming. And also wouldn't all of Dany's army been killed in that chaos? She didn't seem to be very discriminating. And yet again a major character, Arya, miraculously survives a situation where she ...

Ego + Abandonment/Betrayal + Targaryen coin flip

I really liked the episode. The explosions of wildfire scattered throughout the destruction were a nice touch. I saw them as the crazy Targaryen coming to the surface.

...but I also think it's currently very popular to be over critical. The first two episodes everyone was upset because they were so slow. Now episodes 3 and 4 were too fast. Still looking for the Goldylocks episode I guess. It's popular because the show's storytelling is bad now, not because it's t...

Re: Game of Thrones

How many times is Euron going to ambush people with thousands of ships? And was Dany flying with her eyes closed? She couldn't see a fleet at Dragonstone from her vantage point a mile high? So much of this kind of fudge in these final couple of seasons. Why wouldn't Cersei just unleash hell on daen...
