Re: Peru, 1936 15 Ferguson

Re: Grey Matter Art Appreciation & Release Thread

best total recall print to date hands down Thought the exact opposite. I normally like what Grey Matter puts out, but this one looks forced as hell. Clunky title placement, very rough illustration of a miscellanous mountain that looks nothing like the film..random oil refinery pasted in? And same c...

Re: Hero Complex Gallery News & Rumors thread

That's a lotta cut and paste FTFY It's kinda obvious he's cutting and pasting in various screencap elements to make up a clunky photoshop collage. You can even see resolution and sharpness differences in the various photo elements if you look at the large previews, especially in the Nemo image. Pre...

Re: Hero Complex Gallery News & Rumors thread

look at all this bootleg merch.... how does HCG get away with this on a regular basis?! Well looks like they recently purged the website of a bunch of the unlicensed disney and pixar stuff--- so someone is nervous. At first glance thought those Miatkes were crops of larger scenes. They seem more in...

Re: Raiders of the Lost Ark 16 Durieux

Cut out pasted on a backdrop .....Enjoy :pint: Compared to most artists taking a collage of the actors from google, tracing over them in photoshop, and adding their own little flare. Lol, k. I'm wondering why people are in a pissy mood over this print. Judging a 24x36 print by a 3x7 tiny jpeg is al...

Re: Hero Complex Gallery News & Rumors thread

I can't help feeling that I've seen almost all of these prints before, though. They're fine, but I kind of feel like, "Why bother?" Like, isn't the Star Wars one basically just the same as Mark Englert's "I'm Here to Rescue You" one from a couple years ago? (I know, not the same in every detail, of...

Re: The Tim Doyle/ Nakatomi Art Thread

Honest question: The book contains lots of intellectual property that (as far as I know) Doyle doesn't own or have the rights to profit from, so how that would shake out as far as Kickstarter goes? Didn't that guy with the Death Star KS get shut down because of a copyright claim?

Re: Bottleneck Gallery News/Rumors!

Sorry to go so negative but that SW set is really underwhelming IMHO. The Empire bridge looks like a rough draft (Vader vampire doesn't throw a reflection?) and Jedi is just the 1st image flipped and with cartoonish fireballs added? Also not a fan of all the blank space at the bottom, lazy/clunky wa...

That list is woefully incomplete.

And topics like this are never fun, they're just meant to stir up fudge.

Re: Bottleneck Gallery News/Rumors!

Submitted my prompt for Skinner's sketch. I hope he's into the property I suggested, but I know he'll do a bang-up job with the subject matter. Hint: I like his cityscapes. Interested to see that, since the cityscape renders I've seen in his prints appear to be mostly computer-generated. You see th...

Re: Cinderella 65th Anniversary 15 Richard

Cinderella-disneyscreencaps_com-5417.jpg Pretty sure it's a movie print, not a theme park print. Yes it's the movie castle, not the WDW park version...very obvious if you're familiar with the 1950 film. Another clue is the "65th Anniversary" designation  The movie castle and the theme park ca...

Re: Mondo Poster News & Rumors

Maybe let artists see the movie before getting them to do a poster? Then we might not get trailer posters. Crazy idea I know Ps Kevin tong is the drymounting man Also less posters for movies that end up not being good maybe. This is such a disgusting statement. That movie was thousands of people's ...
