Re: Catalyst Grand Opening Santa Cruz 69 Irons

a beautiful old poster, crisply printed with vibrant colors looks a lot like an image from a high-end psychedelic comic unappreciated lotsa good shows happened at the catalyst in santa cruz over the years.... and despite all the decades, changes, and chaos.... the general style of greg irons' letter...

Re: Eden Hashish Centre Ganesha Five Heads 68

This was the only one I had left in good shape. It's now found a good home on someone elses walls. - really where it belongs, displayed. A beautiful image I was curious about the shop, here's a bit on it, don't know how accurate it is ... ======================================= The Eden Hashish Cent...

Re: Moonalice SF 8 12 Shaw

Actually the WS year was 1989, Giants vs A's. And after they sang the Natl. Anthem, they literally brought the house down & shook the whole bay area. The entire series was moved to Oakland where the A's beat the Giants. That was the 2nd of 3 straight for the A's & the only year they won of the 3. 1...

Re: Moonalice SF 8 12 Shaw

Only at a MLB ball park in San Francisco! Many folks prolly don't know but the Dead, and individual band members, went to many Giants ballgames in the past. Once saw them in a box at the WS back in the late '90's. Saw Garcia with a Giants cap at a gun shop in The City as well. They also did several ...

Re: fIREHOSE San Francisco 12 Firehouse

Ron took thousands of dollars from people here.. Wandering Gypsy, you appear to be talking about drugs or some other underlying problem when you say "the situation YEARS ago" so I don't know what to tell you about that.. You also seem to be defending a person who has stolen an insane amount of mone...

Re: fIREHOSE San Francisco 12 Firehouse

Too much ignorance and plain wild assed guesses in this thread. Sad. Unsubstantiated internet hearsay. Brilliant, boys! A concerned interest *was* taken in addressing the situation (of Ron's doing) YEARS ago by someone other than Ron. With substance. I heard it from both sides and it was reported in...

Two great posters for the same event - this one and the Orange Groove. I hung them up with tacks until they ended in tatters.

Re: Eden Hashish Centre Gayatri 68

I picked a few of these decades ago in NYC for a song, maybe 5 bones or less. I remember pouring through stacks of 'em. Tons of different designs. Some of them were very nicely done for lithos - humerous, too. Others were totally cheesy with poorly executed designs and/or bad printining. I still hav...

Re: Buffalo Springfield Oakland 11 Tuten

Timeless image and lettering - got that classic feel to it. Very nicely done! Still saw the rollers when I was a kid - haven't seen one in decades .... The Buffalo-Springfield name no longer exists as a company as it was eaten by a bigger fish which was eaten by a bigger fish, now called BOMAG and o...

Re: Machine Gun in the Clown's Hand 04 Sperry

Notice the tacks? I'm proud of 'em! I've used thumbtacks with my posters in 4 different garages for the last 30+ years. All these posters are tacked up, plus many more that aren't in the picture. Oh! Shocking! The waste! Tacked my first poster on my bedroom wall in '67. Ah, the good old days ...
