Re: Best/Worst Movies of 2019

Hey RA, in the nerdlocker review you said Long Day's Journey would be playing MFAH in July? Any idea if it'll be 2D or 3D there?

Re: 2019 Rotten Oscars

Glad this is still happening. Here is my snub. Susannah York should've won Best Supporting Actress for They Shoot Horses Don't They. She was inexplicably beaten by Goldie Hawn in Cactus Flower. So, if Green Book wins, there is precedence. https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-iDcTGEsseJA/WCXR1nTHXVI/AAAAAAAABS...

Re: Best/Worst Movies of 2018

Beale Street should've gotten a cinematography nod. Every frame is gorgeous. At least they didn't screw it out of a nomination for music.

Re: The Official Horror Movie Thread

Can anybody recommend a good giallo film? I've seen only a handful but am interested in viewing more of the genre. I've seen some of the big ones: DEEP RED, TORSO, TENEBRAE, OPERA, THE CAT O' NINE NAILS. And some not so big ones: STRIP NUDE FOR YOUR KILLER, THE NEW YORK RIPPER. I've got YOUR VICE I...

Re: Best/Worst Movies of 2018

Watched Hagazussa last night. It's kinda the slow cinema version of The Witch by way of Antichrist. It was also a student film, which blows my goddamn mind. It could likely end up on my top ten list I posted a day or so ago. Folk horror fans will probably dig it. This is great to hear. It has been ...

Re: Best/Worst Movies of 2018

Brett and Rambo (and anybody else), how do you guys feel about the new Rebecca project?? I wish I could say I was excited, but despite several attempts, I just can't get into Ben Wheatley's work. Someone give that gloomy fool a hug. What have you seen lately? What did you like? What did you hate? W...

Re: Best/Worst Movies of 2018

Watched Mandy. It's alright. Johan did a great job creating a soundscape. Most of it looks great. Nic Cage is very Nic Cage. Andrea Riseborough is very good (like always). For being such a gonzo weird movie, it's a rather simplistic plot and script. The biggest drawback for me was a lot of it has ve...

There is a little gothic horror flick called The Lodgers on Netflix that isn't half bad.

Re: Best/Worst Movies of 2018

Watched Nancy last night. Andrea Riseborough does a great subdued performance. Also, saw Perfect Blue at the theater tonight. The restoration looks great. Going to have to buy it when they put out a new bluray.
