Come to find out, another friend also has a promised piece from Doze, after giving Doze free rent (and food and wine) for damn near 3 years.
So, unfortunately it seems to be more than an isolated incident.

Re: A friendly warning about an artist
The circumstance is that I have tried multiple times to do just that, apply the money given towards inventory. A promise of a catalog comes and goes. It’s about as bad as it gets. To be fair to Doze, of the multiple requests, prior to COVID, I did get a catalog once. The conversation was “something ...

Re: A friendly warning about an artist
Dats a lotta jerky. I’d say a civil lawsuit is in order (assuming the statute of limitations hasn’t run out in whichever state yer in). Doze is in Brazil, for the foreseeable future. 15K will be far far less after the cost to bring the action and then the cost to collect. That's assuming I can even...

A friendly warning about an artist
So, its been 6 years since this all started. I put a sizable deposit down on a Doze Green commission. I'm (still) a huge fan of Doze's work. I've been patient, he's had to relocate a few times, and I was cool being patient. However, at this point Doze has produced tons of work, and just let my sizab...

Matt Eaton Multi-Media on paper The pictures don’t do justice for the layers. The build up on the surface lends well to Matt’s process. https://i.postimg.cc/sxkM3dT6/70-BCE476-8-C8-E-4-A53-B336-F224-F27-E01-A0.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/KcwkPBmP/CF42-AF1-C-BDD1-404-B-9-F24-08-B14179-FFD3.jpg

I picked up 2. Awesome little gifts for friends. A card that they will actually keep. Sending it with a ready made frame.

Re: How do certain people get everydrop?
I've always imagined its like high frequency traders. People building massive server farms closer to the servers doing the drops, and fighting out for milliseconds, to ensure they get access to their next must have print... that never gets framed and now has to be sold because girlfriend said so. So...

Re: Top 5 (Ish) Art Acquisitions of 2019
Strangely enough, I only bought 5 pieces this year. I've slowed down a ton. This is a piece of dutch art nouveau I picked up on a trip to Amsterdam. https://i.postimg.cc/SjDDC13M/IMG-0568.jpg I buy a piece from David B Smith every year during Art Basel Miami, this is a piece by Adam Milner, called N...

Thanks for the kind words. This smaller piece was quite affordable and less than the hand finished large format prints. He’s going to be all over the US during election season, might be another chance to grab something. Also grabbed a sculpture from Kwest, it jumped to the top of my favorite pieces ...

I’ve been laying low, in art rehab, but it’s Basel and I have some traditions. Cutting it short, so just these 2 https://i.postimg.cc/LhJGHBv4/7-B56-FD29-33-A8-4241-8-E38-4-C859-AFF9-EFB.jpg Adam Milner Monuments series Cast Bronze with false eyelashes. https://i.postimg.cc/bZh59XPd/FA28-B579-3-ED6-...

Re: Juan Travieso X PangeaSeed Limited Edition Print Release
Juan's a long time friend, happy to seem him team up with PangeaSeed since his work and their mission are so well aligned. While Juan has a few pieces around the apartment, I'd concur that its rather sparse considering what you would expect. I've met a few artists that dont have art in their houses,...
