i don't get how someone owns an image they did not create. the image itself is not a creation, is it? the print may be, but... e.g. shep printed up the way Obama looks in a certain pose- why does the photographer own the rights to that pose? what if shep (or anybody for that matter) takes a picture...

i completly agree with his decision. photography is an art in and of itself and it should be respected and or protected at all legal costs. shepard fairey would have lost his ass too. know who you are stealing from, or pay the price.
