Re: True Romance 21 Rockin Jelly Bean

Wow, from that sketch I am guessing this design won't have that old school pop half tone treatment he usually goes for?

Re: Bottleneck Gallery News/Rumors!

Thats the plan but but since we did the second screen print we have received I want to say close to 150 emails to reprint the first one due to the white border and the cmyk printing causing the color change. We are trying to figure that out because even though a majority probably want this, we also...

Is this exclusive to Vice Press or will they only get an allocation as usual? Surprised if that's the case since BNG sell out much quicker. Is it maybe due to licensing or something?

Re: Bottleneck Gallery News/Rumors!

I think I may have asked this when the first lenticular came out, but what's the consensus on best long-term storage solution for them, in particular the 4mm ones? Right now I have just kept them in their original cardboard shippers, but as I'm up to 3 of them, not sure that will continue to be an ...

Re: The Graduate 21 Benjamin

Can't say I enjoy the composition here. Feels awkward to the eye and hard to look at. Am I nuts? I agree, i want to like it as i really appreciate the concept and love the execution from a stylistic perspective, I definitely think it is intentional. I just don't enjoy looking at it as much as I wan...

Re: Martha’s Vineyard Welcomes You 20 Durieux

I'll admit I'm not 100% sure on this but I don't see why else he'd create them unless it was just for the show? But since he only uses solid colours (no gradients) I'd imagine he needs some sort of prior reference to work from before digitising his designs and I assume that's where the hand drawn st...

Re: Martha’s Vineyard Welcomes You 20 Durieux

He produces colour roughs by hand and then uses those as reference when they are recreated digitally. Seeing some of those 'roughs' (not in person) from the Mondo show will make you appreciate the man's craft a little more - they look like they take a while to create. And imo the real craft is the i...

Re: Bottleneck Gallery News/Rumors!

Jaws arrived! Very impressed! My phone just can not capture the effect. Very happy with this. Now if the backlight frame would ship. I want to take off the protective film and get the full effect! Well done on this!! :notworthy: The next one we have up is a beauty. Is it this? https://filmartgaller...

not cost effective to do that on Greg Ruth’s pixelated messes
True that it will only work on solid colour splits. Not true about Ruth's pixelated messes. I haven't seen any evidence of his prints coming out bad, anyone got any pics to share? Genuinely curious.

Re: Mondo Poster News & Rumors

I wish more printers used the thick enamel inks that you see on Ken Taylors gig posters, has a really nice matte finish like its been hand painted. Bet it's expensive though.

Re: Mondo Poster News & Rumors

The Crow was the most recent thing I received from them and it had the black ink that scuffs when you look at it. Probably depends somewhat on the printer. Surprised my copy didn't have any, the A Quiet Place print was partly due to the paper stock I think - it was extremely smooth. That and the fa...

Re: Mondo Poster News & Rumors

I really hope that large grey background doesn't get scuffed. Still really gutted about how Tomer Hanuka's A Quiet Place variant came out. Scuffs on grey come out really light compared to black and I find them much harder to ignore.
