Let me tell you about this poster. I really like this book called 'An Embarrassment of Riches; by David Schama which is a geo/cultural/financial history of 17th century Holland. Theres a really interesting section concerning a centuries long 'school' of popular 'disaster prints' which mostly concern storms, floods and destruction by the sea and foreign invaders. He posits that these prints where immensely popular then as a sort of 'guilt backlash' self castigation in a safe form in response to their overwhelming wealth, control and bourgesie comfort, since they lacked a strong 'castigating' religious tradition..in effect the 'disaster prints' where sort of their 17th century version of 'COPS' or something. 'There but by the grace of Mammon go i ' sort of thing.

hence, I decided to combine that with my love of monster and vikings, and yes, narwhals to suggest to Munk we do this design. So..in a way its a twist on a 17th century traditional dutch disaster print as rendered by an Ed Roth of the day........

Great story and awesome print.

I'll need to save up $140 to get it to Scotland though.

don´t like it.
The style of Kozik and Munk One is too different.
The letters with the venue and the city is the best part. The Pearl Jam letters sucks.
Too much off eyerything on this poster :hanging:

I have a rule, that I never buy gig prints unless I was at the show. After seeing this print I might have to break that rule!

Great work Frank and Munk....

Cheers....

I couldnt hold out any longer. I don't collect gig posters but this just too crazy not to have on my walls. Even if it was for a band I didnt like it would of been hard to resist. It has a great back story and the colors look like they're going to really standout in person. Congrats on the print Mr. Kozik and Mr. One.... but damn you for popping my gig poster cherry.

Poster just arrived today and damn, they used some smelly inks. My living room smells like a stink bug just unloaded in here. The poster is badass. I really love that horny whale thing.
