It takes Bowling Balls!
Maude Lebowski: What do you do for recreation?
The Dude: Oh, the usual. I bowl. Drive around. The occasional acid flashback.

Hey EB! Thanks for the nice comments and thanks to anyone who bought a print.

The print sold much more rapidly than I anticipated, sold out and actually over-sold what I have available before I got a chance to stop the sale.

Let me fill in a few details that the Dude description does not have : the print is for the show at S&N which goes up on the 20th, the show is a print trade show, (each artist who is involved gets a copy of each the other artists' work as a way of payment), and the gallery will have a few copies for sale. I printed 80 and sent 40 to S&N, kept a couple for my archive, give a couple to friends, and am able to sell about 34 of the remaining. The GP ad sold close to 50 before I knew it, and now I'm in the situation that I'm in.

I am talking to those who ordered a copy about refunds or a possible 2nd edition. After talking to a few people, I understand that some people will not like the idea of a 2nd edition, so I am taking that into consideration. I don't want to make people mad making other people happy. I was not planning to be in this predicament.

I will decide within the next day or 2 what I'm going to do.

If you have an opinion- please leave a note here and let me know! or go to my website and contact me through there, or leave a comment.

There is still a chance that you could buy a 1st edition through S&N or from one of the other artists involved in the show. There is a great thread on GP about the show. There are some really amazing looking pieces going up. I am very very honored to have been allowed into the show. High-caliber stuff going on there.

And agian - Thanks everyone!

Do what everyone else does... The people who bought 'oversold' copies get an AP version ;)

That's the point of limited edition items, they are limited. Everybody can't buy them and everybody wont be happy. In some cases more people wont be happy than are. That is the nature of the beast. Please dont print a 2nd printing "just to appease the masses". That goes against everything that limted edition is meant to be. If there is a 2nd edition, I will be asking for a refund strictly out of principle. Thanks for being open to feedback.

Let me add something else. I have been refunded countless times for prints when they have oversold and the last thought on my mind would be printing more. I understand that I cant have everything I want and accept that.

I would recommend spending that time and energy into creating something new and original. Maybe instead of refunding the 5 or so people, supply them with an AP or PP. Also half of the edition has not been sold right? Well Leia is a sweetie and maybe she can sell some of her copies to these people. Just a thought Leia, not trying to give you more work.
