Okay, so now that the Mondo Star Wars series is over, and they'll be moving on to new things... I thought it'd be nice to start a Star Wars art thread here for those of us who will continue collecting art from our favorite galaxy far, far away. I figure this thread can continue the Star Wars/Mondo discussion, include art from Star Wars Celebrations, ACME Archives , Star Wars art books, special exhibits and the like.
Even thought it's not "new"... I think it'd be fitting to start the thread with this concept Vader piece (for a book cover I believe) from the master - Ralph McQuarrie:

I'm sure there are a few people who have been counting down the days until the series ends so the Star Wars fans would stop hogging the Mondo thread.
I'm running out of room to hang stuff, but I keep an eye on the Acme site to check out what's new.

Excellent idea for a thread. The mondo poster series got me started on the collecting scene and I've branched out since, but I will always keep my eye for more star wars stuff. I found this over at the awesomer. Some vader re-designs by graphic artists. They're alright. This one in particular caught my eye.

Go to the print page. On the left there's a Member's Tools section. Click Discuss Remotely. Copy one of the form links and paste into comment.IWish wrote: (Still haven't figured out to make the image an active link.)

I'll throw this in here. I was cleaning a spare closet out and found a box with some silly little Burger King Star Wars toys in them. They are unopened. I have 8 of them. They are:
Wicket
Jar Jar Binks
R2-D2
Millennium Falcon
Chewbacca
Padme Amidala
Wampa
Sith
If anybody wants them let me know.

Would you believe that I kept going back to Burger King over and over until I had a complete set of those?alteridiom wrote:I'll throw this in here. That was me when I was little with the original glasses. I think I had all the Empire ones and they broke. Still have the ROTJ ones.dylansdad wrote:Would you believe that I kept going back to Burger King over and over until I had a complete set of those?alteridiom wrote:I'll throw this in here. And on a side note, just last year lead was found in Shrek McDonald's glasses and they were recalled. I wonder if these Star Wars glasses from the early 80s had any. It might explain a lot!
