After a huge effort, all paid orders will be shipped tomorrow. I actually scheduled a post office pickup for these, so i expect they will actually pick them up. ;) My only worry is that they may underestimate how much room they will need to transport these. i called them just to emphasize the point.

I have some bad news. The prints did oversell by a couple. I had to send out notices to the buyers. By the nature of things, I processed all paid orders first and the people affected were those that paid by check. I am not sure how this got pass the system. Having to tell someone they did not get it is very depressing.

There's an idea...

Despite the minor snafu (minor for me, anyway  ), however, the project seems to have been a smashing success, old boy.

not sure I agree with that. :ziggi:
the aim of the series as I see it is to raise money for the site.
don't think anyone should expect compo over such an issue.
I doubt they do...but still.

I don't think compensation is needed, a good buddy of mine whom I've gotten most of his EB prints for so far and has a complete set was one of the unlucky ones. He's traveling to jazz fest now, so he's on the road, I called him first thing yesterday AM, he worked his way to a pc had troubles with his paypal account and had to choose the option of sending a money order.

Personally I think when the order came in is more improtant than when payment arrives as its a no-brainer that paypal comes quicker than mail, but if the intent is there to send money be it thorugh paypal or money order, then each option should hold the same prominence in the que. Now I know he ordered late, so perhaps timestamp means nothing in this case, but the way you worded it Thomas it sounds like payment received determined where the line got cut off.

Anyways, hopefully Wes will be willing/able to sell my buddy one. Its certainly no big deal, and like I said I don't think compensation makes sense, stuff like this happens and we all understand.

From Wes's postings on his site, sounds like his will be up for sale soon (although I've heard a much higher price tag than the ones we sold here, as is the artist's perogative). FWIW, I don't believe that sunset is refunding based on payment received - if he was then how could folks be notified already that it was oversold? We would have to wait for all checks/MOs to arrive and then refund the last two - not the case (there were/are more than two people who paid via check/MO).

Just to be clear, it was not payment discrimination.

It is like this. i did not know there was a problem. I proceed to fill all the orders I could (ie the paid ones). After labeling all the paid packages, I counted the remaining boxes and saw the problem. I was very very depressed about it. I take the blame completely.

The affected ones were chosen by time of order, but I could not included all the already labeled ones as postage has been paid.

no worries Thomas, stuff like this happens, call it the stress of success

It will work out, either I'll get one for my buddy through Wes, or he'll get mine, its really no big deal to me one way or the other.

I just read that statement about processing the paypal ones first and I thought hhhmmm thats a potnetial bummer, but like I said I know he ordered way late anyways, so I suspected he was at the end of the line as it was.

No need to be depressed about anything Thomas.

I can confirm that all paid prints in in the hands of the post office. That includes the international packages.

It is much higher/or will be- on Wes's site. He had a posting up there about the piece before it went on sale at EB, with a price listed.

indeed. and he does get $100 for just a signature. Heck I gave him $100 for one while I was doing this deal with him. So to think we sold great art with the sig for $125 is unreal. I think he will just set it at a price that he thinks is fair. As we are a non-profit with a completely different agenda, the two prices should not be compared. Also, don't forget, our sale was to EB members only.
