I love the smell of market saturation in the morning. Smells like......victory.
Anyone try framing all 4 to form punk girl? Either 4 separate frames or one big frame (which would be insane)

ipath2003 wrote:Hey Pat how did you get all them to stay in place? Picture corners? Looks great
I have small archival corners and I cut them in half, so there are little tabs with a triangle of adhesive on the back. Then I just laid out the prints in place and put two tabs under each print along the bottom edge to hold them in place. After hanging it up on the wall I realized that I'm going to have to tab them along all the edges to keep it down better. If I would've used them at the corners there would be more of a gap showing, so I went with this idea and I think it'll turn out very well after another some adjustments.
I went into the project thinking I would be using my buddies shop and pretty much make it on my own, but after we talked about all the specs he took off and did all of the cutting and most of the assembly. I did the priming and painting later. I would've gone about the construction in a much different way, but it turned out great, so I'm very thankful for all of his help. We used one reclaimed piece of wood and ripped it down into three boards and got it all cut down to size.ipath2003 wrote:Did you make the frame yourself or have some help?
Thanks, I figured that'd be the only way to go! I worked in covering up the paper margins into the frame dimensions, too. I'm glad I did, I like the look of the art going right to the black frame, especially with the vignette effect of the black in the background.ipath2003 wrote:Nice choice painting the frame black too.
The plexi was around $24, it was already 36 by 48 inches, so that was a plus. I'm pretty sure it was Home Depot. Out of the two home centers in town one had this sheet, and the other only had larger sizes of better material (Lexan), but it was around $65.ipath2003 wrote:How much did the sheet of plexi cost? Home Depot?
So... grand total... we're looking at $24 for the plexi, $7 for a sheet of hardboard, about $11 for a fresh rattle can of primer and spraypaint... and a couple Qdoba burritos for my buddy that made the frame. $60ish total? WORTH IT!
If anyone has any questions let me know, I'd be happy to answer them if I can!
