speaking of this, do any of you guys report this as hobby income on your taxes? I do, but that's just because you can't be a square without strong straight edges.
Consider treating it as an investment. Lower tax rate if you hold on to poster for a year. And you could report capital losses as well.

In Canada it'd just be considered Personal Property I think. Maybe Listed Personal Property but I'm not sure if it counts or not.. Either way you don't have to claim any individual item that cost or sold for less than $1000.
Not the same in US. Cash you get you have to pay tax on...or not get caught! Only tracking I can see is Paypal accounts and bank deposits from Paypal. I include value of my collection in loan applications...don't know about my tax return yet.higherlimits wrote:In Canada it'd just be considered Personal Property I think. Private sales need that should be recorded, seems i can only add ebay auctions :
Alex Grey Net of Being 1st edition # 216 $485 plus $15 S&H
Biskup Beatnik Band #176 $340
Alex Grey Net of Being 1st edition # 216 $485 plus $15 S&H
Biskup Beatnik Band #176 $340
You don't have to report on taxes 'til you flip 200 items or 20,000 dollars on EBay. Now you know.
