To prevent the slider bar you should reduce the picture to 800 X 600.

To eliminate the "frame stuff" you need to link the pictures from another site (e.g., flicker).

so if i upload a jpeg I'll always have the "frame" stuff? I was trying to figure out how to shoot pics of prints, save them to my PC as jpegs, then upload them without the "framing"...

use photobucket or some other photo sharing website, then just use the IMG tab and paste the link in

I resize my photos at 150 dpi and 600 - 800 pixels on the long dimension (depending on how much detail i want to show). save file as JPEG.

upload to any of the free hosting sites (I use both ImageShack and Flickr). copy the direct URL for the hosted image.

click the Img button when making you post and paste in the URL

Query: When images are added, are the new photos (or whatever) always tagged with the name of the person who provided them to the database?

I'm asking because of the whole flap this past summer (which shall not be named), and because sometimes I see new images that don't contain a photo credit. I guess the question I'm asking is why do some art images have a credit and others don't.

For example, I upoaded this image, and it has a "submitted by" credit.

But none of the six EB images of this painting credit the person who added them. Why is that?

You have the option to submit anonymously. That's how I add images to the item listing...the pic gets in the database but your name isn't on it.

So you can just do it without logging in. Makes sense. Thanks.

No, you have to be logged in.

...but you can submit without the database displaying "Submitted by Man11" or whoever on the item detail. Log in, go to "My Page," go to "Account Settings," and you'll that option as a checkbox to the right of "Submissions." Specifically, it reads:

Make my submissions anonymous. Normally, members get credit for adding art and images. Since this site uses caching, it may take soem [sic] time for recently viewed material to reflect this change.

For example, I added all the process pics of Daniel Danger's "September": http://www.expressobeans.com/public/detail.php/88769. But, since I'm anonymous, it doesn't say "Submitted by mistersmith" anywhere.

Ah, I see. I actually went to an Add Image page on a random print to see if an anonymous option like that would be there. Didn't think to check the personal account settings. Good to know.
