I haven't ever noticed an issue with any embossed print I have. All of which are either in my flatfile or in my portfolio. Never had an issue flattening embossed prints under weight either.

I'm not sure but personally I wouldn't put something like heavy books directly on top of it. In a portfolio or flat file it will most likely be fine.
