Like him, I really dig the concept of the ape holding the spaceship like a weapon.

Well, I guess that's one way to design a movie poster.

Mega-Man print looks alright.

...fallout gives the distinct impression that it will be in the store for a while.

I actually like the Mega Man quite a bit. The Fallout is a snooze.

Alright, I'll bite. I'm pretty sure it was just over three years ago when I, along with many others were calling "peak Mondo." Clearly, we are on the downhill side of the peak and are accelerating quickly, these last few prints posted prove that point. The entire print game is oversaturated and is stuck in a rut of passing off weak, derivative art as "must have" prints.

First, the "Planned Parenthood" 2001 print, wtf is that? Kubrick would not approve. One, he wouldn't be a fan of having prints made of past work. Two, especially those piss-poor, hodge-podge interpretations of his already iconic images. This is embarrassing for everyone involved who are capitalizing on a product that the original artist (estate approved or not) never clearly signed off on.

On to Mondo losing complete touch, obviously they don't have a "No" man in their ranks. Someone that could appropriately veto this garbage. What happened Mondo? You were once the greatest in the business, the bellwether that everyone aspired to, now relegated to basically the Walmart of the industry, churning out crap that nobody needs nor wants. That being said, can you please make some more Aliens and Jaws prints, I don't think those franchises have been beaten to death enough yet.

Now, I'm no expert and I'm sure that I'll get flamed for whatever year I joined... which btw isn't an indication of how many years I had lurked here prior, I just had better things to do with my time than to be writing posts about limited paper. These are only my opinions. So if I triggered anyone, I'm sure it'll quickly be forgotten once Mondo announces their next batch of prints. "Open the pod bay doors..."

People still buy it though so things will continue trending so as long as sell-outs keep happening. They don't need to make all their fans happy, just enough to sell the run of prints.

Reckon peak Mondo was actually few years prior to 14. Still some great cult pieces put out now and then, A24 is a nice series to have started.

However when you now have 27 salaries to cover, it's gonna take more output across multiple product lines to cover it. https://mondotees.com/pages/about

Add to the fact that most is now licensed and so the slice of the pie is also smaller.

They’re still putting out quality pieces. Some of it is fudge, but some of it has always been fudge. If anything it’s peak complaining.
