I'm curious as to what differentiates a burger for a sandwich as well. It's just a specific kind of sandwich.

Also, if you say a hot dog isn't a sandwich, how can you say a sub is? It's basically the same concept; ingredients on a split roll.

I am not really anti-hamburger-as-a-sandwich, I would just never call it an "hamburger sandwich."

A hot dog is not a sandwich. I draw the line there.
