The show by Nathan Sawaya? yeah I went a few years ago when it was in Lubbock at a kids museum. was really cool but kind of small. but then again, that was 7 years ago or so, so it might be larger now?

either way if its in the same town as you i recommend going, was really cool to see the stuff he had on display, makes me want to buy large quantities of 2x4 bricks in a single color lol

Finished the Ship in a Bottle this weekend. Bottom of the bottle is a little tricky, but it looks nice when it's complete

First of the anniv sets at Walmart arrived today so I went during lunch and picked it up. Damn its small lol. not sure why its $20, but oh well, still going for all 3

Its also packaged in the older style, having a slip sleeve over a "box" with the bricks and instructions inside. I'm not opening it (yet, still debating), but its taped on one end with a limited edition number tape, and the other side with a single round clear sticker. Got REALLY nervous when I went to pick it up because the girl at the counter just sliced thru the shipping box tape and was scared she sliced thru the box, but thankfully there was lots of airbags to cushion it. Might ask next time if I can open it instead...

And my lego order arrived today as well, with the ship in a bottle (man the box is bigger than I expected!), the Shanghai skyline, and the anniv set bonus!

Really want to open this one, but still wary of it...might just brick together the space and castle first and see how they look at actual size. But the box is cool, love the art on the back from the original sets. So glad I got one before they ran out, wonder if stores still have them...

Congrats Stark! Glad you were able to get your mitts on these sets! I'd love to see the fast motion video of you pacing around the box deciding whether or not to open it.

Wound up going to a local Lego store and getting the Ghostbusters firehouse to get the 60th anniversary promo set.

I was gonna get the Ninjago city but I figured if I was gonna get an expensive set I should get something that's probably closer to retirement.

saw a post on BoingBoing about knockoff plastic bricks in china, figured I would post here for a laugh. Man these things are ridiculous, I keep laughing at the knockoff series names like NEW NINJASAGA BLOCKS and BUILERDS! :vomit: :vomit: :vomit:

I think it "sold out" on wednesday so fast because it wasn't supposed to be released until today, and they caught it before it was too late? Either way, snagged one, woohoo! All 3 locked down finally.

Read yesterday there are only 5000 of each?
