Well if you have any regrets you can probably pick one up near cost as long as his market remains stable.

Im no screenprinting expert, but Im not sure it would even be possible to screenprint this image and retain all of the detail/quality that makes this image so exceptional. I guess Im with the minority here, but I find this print outstanding and imagine the artist chose the medium deliberately to best represent his art. His older prints were definitely more screen-print friendly designs. That said, I will not argue that the price was pretty steep for a giclee, but if it were a smaller edition at a cheaper price, they would have sold out much quicker and probably sold easily for $250 on the aftermarket... So with that rational I picked one up anyway and cannot wait to see it in person

hmmm so what protects them from uv rays? i sent pixel point an email let's see what they say.

on a side note $175 for an open edition seems a bit steep. or i guess the other side of the coin is it makes $250 for an edition of 300 seem like a deal.

92 of 300 prints left a week later...now i think we’re in overpriced and/or high print run territory. i actually think it’s a really nice piece.

oh...forgot to post pixel’s response...

Yours is a good question and as a very serious fine art printer I continue to do research myself regarding just how “light fast” UV curable inks are now that the technology has matured as much as it has over the past 10 years. That said I have chosen to adopt it.

For these art panels I use an 8 color CET flatbed high resolution print platform with UV cured pigment inks - the result is solid polymer surface of color. Further, I print onto Gesso both as an inert barrier and to provide a natural white print base. I do coat the prints as well but mostly for added scratch protection and durability. Rating for permanence with UV inks are generally specifying “outdoor direct” sunlight - I am among the few ( and growing ) fine art printers taking advantage of the newest high resolution capabilities now available.

Take a look at the link I included below, specifically the one primarily on the benefits of the UV ink set I use which is
