This book took me years to get through because I'm a super lazy reader sometimes and would get caught up in the wording and what not.

Finally finished Dune. Excited to see how they tackle the movie with modern technology.

They're going to try again and they're dumb for doing it. It needs to be on HBO/Netflix and not limited to 2.5 hours.

a series would be great - SyFy tried I think with a mini-series, but from what I recall it was unwatchable.

reading this; its a decent Stephen King-esque horror . . . definitely a first novel kind of thing, the writing needs some polish, the plots not that complex, but shows a lot of potential for the writer:

Honestly. I don't really think it is impossible to adapt into a movie. There isn't THAT much there that it couldn't be a movie. It's a fairly straight forward story.

definitely not impossible, I just think there's more than enough there (especially with the follow-up books) to make a really great, detailed, long form series which I would enjoy more.

Currently reading Blood Meridian. Enjoying it so far, but it's my first McCarthy and the whole punctuation thing throws me a bit.

That was and is the only McCarthy book I've read. Once you get into it it's great. I almost reread it immediately after to see what I had missed.

I'm going to move onto Outer Dark and then The Counselor to see how bad the movie is compared to the book.

I'm currently reading The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt and thoroughly enjoying it so far.

Any recommendations for similar books once I finish?
