How big are the prints going to be?Mapman wrote:So I just got my first corporate job. My wife's old boss ordered 4 of my Chicago photos in large sizes for a new office he's opening. While I'm excited, I've never printed THIS big, so I'm concerned about the quality of the images. UGH...
My standard size print is 15"x20" on 17"x22" paper but I can easily go up to 24"x30".
That's with a 16MP camera. The trick is doing the interpolation (enlarging) in the print driver.
If your starting with a good file, you can double the file size with minimal degradation.
I've printed a few of my prints to 16x20, but the requested sizes were 20x30 and 16 x24, and not of any images I've printed in large format only 8x10. I use an online printer, and they will let you know the max size you can print to, and for these it was bigger than what I printed them at, so in that sense I feel OK about it. I wouldn't think twice at smaller sizes, but I am a bit worried about the sharpness and clarity for print sizes this big.
Here are the ones that were requested....

Well my buyer was very happy with the prints. So that's good!
Hey I also switched store fronts, so I added a ton more images. Not looking for sales, just looking to share! Check it out....

Was out to sea this past week with the US Navy. Somewhere in the Pacific aboard the USS John C. Stennis. Over 5,000 Navy personnel live on the carrier. Most are in their mid to late twenties...some are fresh out of high school. Great experience meeting some of them.
