Dead Man (detail/WIP), acrylic and gouache on Masonite, 2009. The first project I worked on with @mondotees was for a screening of the Jim Jarmusch film Dead Man, one of my absolute favorite movies. I wanted to construct a piece that not only harkened back to the elaborate advertising ephemera of the film's time period but also captured the surreal, fever dream quality of Wm. Blake's vision quest as he slowly transcends the mortal coil. This process photo shows the completed grayscale work before fleshing out the lettering and filigree details surrounding the inset image. The final printed piece was a giclee print with letterpress accents. #aaronhorkey #deadman #jimjarmusch #neilyoung #poetpainterkillerofwhitemen

Never was able to get the trade I wanted....
Came back from framer today. I've never been so happy I kept a print.
Simple gold w/ red frame, slight spaced / floated in the frame with small black mat.
Love it. Will post pic later.
