If possible it would be good to pin down a date for the actual anniversary or a month and make a sticky thread and then see what happens. I think some cool stuff might go down if everyone know when it's going to happen.

as far as an official date...I wasn't here for that. the gentleman who posted prior to you was, however.goldenrose wrote:If possible it would be good to pin down a date for the actual anniversary or a month and make a sticky thread and then see what happens. a search on archive.org shows expressobeans.com being registered back in January of 2001. I believe that could be considered our date of conception...one cold frosty night in the back seat of our mom's Buick Skylark. the site was just a placeholder until some of the infrastructure started to take shape.
February 13 of 2003 shows the site up and running with "currently 1123 recorded auctions for 312 works of art"
the earliest forum join dates are all from May 29, 2003

I vote Ithaca:) or Rochester of course, then everyone can fly right here- or, I mean there!

pay via paypal, use credit card, file dispute at the 20 day mark if suspicious. don't deal with noobs. don't trade with noobs. request feedback ahead of time. there are lots of good people 'round here.
If you have the means to actually make a proposal/discussion on it, I'm happy to talk. But thus far all the people who have stepped forward to talk about it (or those which I've found) have proposed estimates as I've stated...unomasmoi wrote:morst wrote:AND it has to be done keeping in mind that the site is free to use, and doesn't have ads, as such!!!Yamar wrote:What we'd need/be looking at is a semi-reinterpretation of the site to fit/flow for phone and/or tablets. This costs some thousands, not tens of thousands. I don't know who gave you that quote but they don't know what they're talking about. This site could be formatted for a phone/touch display with CSS only, guaranteed.

I doubt that Ithaca could handle the traffic of EB - would drive the locals more nutty than usual. Rochester would work for me. Hell, I'd settle for Buffalo or Syracuse too...guerilladubber wrote:^^ You two are Ballers.

How about a convention in New Orleans? We always have a few conventions going on being the touristy city that we are.

I wasn't taking that thought of a "convention" seriously. If you really want to do that, why not center it around TRPS or one of the Flatstocks - that makes the most sense. But it's still more of a "EB gathering", not really unlike any of the others.

As always, if there is anything centered around TRPS and you need help, I live in San Fran.
