That's just a copy of the cover of the Japanese LD boxset. Weak.

I said from the start it was taken from original art, I just adapted it into a poster, same as every single Stout print is taken from screen grabs, same as every single Fairey print is taken from stock photography. I'm not comparing myself to these artists but don't pigeonhole people you disapprove of. If you don't like it I couldn't give a drymount, if you do then thanks very much, perhaps you enjoy the film as much as I did, maybe we should chat about it. I'd be happy to.

Probably my last print in this game, so enjoy folks.

I could understand if this was just a fun little project for you or something he gave to friends. I didn't want to be a dick but had to call it like I saw it. Plus I had never seen this discussed anywhere else.

I could see using elements of it in a more original piece. It's just that coming into this thread blind I was like "what wait that is the LD cover"

And I do love the movie it has had a very large impact on my life, so it's something that I hold quite dear. So in that respect I can appreciate another fan wanting to do something artistic with it.

Like I said I had to call it like I saw it. I'm not going to fudge talk or argue.

The issue here is selling a direct copy...and of line art with line art at that. Line art based on photos/video, composed creatively...officially...legally, is okay. This is not. This is theft.

and Tyler Stout's early work?

The same work that people fawn over for hundreds of dollars?

since Akria is already a cartoon..i can see how it could be hard to create a fan based poster. i believe even tyler said it was an easy print to do since the characters were already illustrated...

Just because everyone else is jumping off a bridge does not mean you have to as well.
