Do what i did... buy one that splits in two. I panicked before picking it up after measuring the door frames. Then when i picked it up it split in two....

Mines the top one. They both split in two.
Then i put it at my GF's in her bedroom. Boom

DAMN THIS OLD ASS HOUSE!
3 doors and they're all 29". It's an aspect that I honestly never even took into consideration when I recently started my flat file search. I have a feeling it's going to be a reoccurring theme for me.

5 drawer flat files will fit fine if you carry them in on their side. Don't worry too much about it, just find a couple 5 drawer units that match and you're set.
Yeah...ultimately that will probably be my only option. Really wanted a complete unit though and am only now understanding basic concepts of measurement and how that was never going to be possible.

(Cause I'm a tard.)
My impatience is getting the best of me too. Just was happy to have found something. DAMN THE CONSEQUENCES AND COMMON SENSE!
The search continues....

The other option is to put in a Patio Door in the back of your place. A little time consuming but I'm guessing if measuring isn't your thing, you're not into major home renovations...

Was browsing craigslist a week ago and happened upon a nice looking 34"x47"x16" five drawer up for sale a mere twenty minutes from my house. The price? $100.
Needless to say I snapped that sucker up straight away (even sorta freaked out the guy that he got a callback so soon once he emailed me his number). Carted it up to my house, and while my puny arms are unable to cart it upstairs into my room proper, it's still found a home in an unused section of the house downstairs.

Happy to finally have one, I've been after a flatfile for months now. And I was expecting to pay considerably more for one, even for one that was smaller than this.

Congrats on the purchase!

Seeing the Stout RotJ print in there makes me realize just how much more elbow room I'll have per drawer once the 2 big files I just bought from CL arrive.

The panoramic app on my phone messes the perspective, but the flat file is huge! Despite what it looks like it takes up about a 1/4 of her room....

Probably shouldn't break up with her while that bad boy still sits in there.

Oh don't you worry, I have hidden a chain and padlock in her room in case an argument should occur. Those draws will be chained up quicker than you can say "you spend more time on that forum than you do talking to me".

Yeah she throws that at me whenever I have my phone, iPad, laptop or mac to hand. Slowly I'm taking over its fine. I casually put that tv in her room, oh wait and I've just fixed my old ps3. Yeah sure honey, I'll let you have my old ps3 in your room to watch blu rays.... You don't have any blu rays? Sorry I can't hear you my Kill Streak is rising.
Ps her new mac magically has C4C running on it now... Yeah babe they all have it now don't worry, it just runs in the background.
