Thought you'd all enjoy seeing the significance of Gigantor Tetsujin 28-go, ESPECIALLY in Japan: see their real world mammoth 1:1 scale (60 feet tall and 50 tons!!) as he stands proudly in Kobe, Japan as a beacon and testament to the resilience of the spirit, God bless!

Google "Gigantor statue" in Google-Images and be awed! Too, too cool, and their Gundam's no slouch either!!

Article notes '09:
..."The statue was built in an area of Kobe that was badly damaged during the Great Hanshin Earthquake of 1995. The statue is being seen as a sign of the area’s recovery.
In the three months since the statue went up, about a million people have come to see it. Most of them are too young to have actually seen the original anime series, but they are nonetheless drawn to the cool-looking giant robot."

..."Move over, Gundam, your time has passed. It’s now Gigantor’s turn to protect Japan from alien intruders. Based on the giant robot from the anime that was first aired in the 1960s in Japan, the city of Kobe in central Japan is now the proud home of a 18m high statue of the Tetsujin 28 (Iron Man 28), which is the robot’s name in Japan."

What did they do with the gigantic Gundam? Just saying, I've got a back yard now.
