No, because then it was "probably traced." :P

Not this again.....

Yes, there was a stock image used. If you don't like, don't buy it, and move along. Simple as that.

Hey to each to each their own.

It just makes me realize I am in the wrong line of work. Instead of using clipart to design business cards, I should be making posters.

I'll admit that I dig this print, but it did put me off a bit when it became known that it was based off of a clip art image. On the other hand, since I can't really call myself an artist, it made me realize that I can't limit myself as to what I might be able to produce using this same technique. What the hell, I'm going to give it a go...I'm not going to hold myself back anymore. I've got nothing to loose but a bit of time, ink and paper. Time will tell if I can produce anything of worth.

I love the color version...I'll confess.

Too bad you gave that one up, she's a beauty!

(Still ISO colored version) :D

I only bought the silver edition as I missed out on the colour and Ap editions. After I bought my silver edition I thought i'd chance it and email John Doe direct and see if he could hook me up with a colour. I ended up getting a colour PP! Obviously wanted to keep the colour PP so sold the silver..... Bloody amazing price too! The chap obviously really wanted the silver run!
My PP is currently at the framers...... cant wait to get it back!!

The prices these are selling for are crazy. he silver edition wasnt an immediate sell out. I think it took over a week. Crazy times!!

Prints like this are to visual art what AutoTune is to music. Maybe there's a good idea in there somewhere, but the world will never know because nobody could be bothered to execute it -- instead, they faked it.

Someone spent 500+ Pounds on this? That's absurd and that person is an idiot. Spending real money on this tossed-off garbage is like arguing that Katy Perry is the best vocalist alive because she sells the most records.

But the common reply is, it's such a pretty print. Which is absolutely a secondary consideration. It constantly makes me sad that so many people on EB, including some that should really know better, automatically get wrapped up in something because of metallic inks or Arches paper or some other fancy printing. If I ran off a limited, leather-bound, gold-embossed-title, 100% rag pages, letterpressed-title-page edition of a Sue Grafton novel, guess what: the fanciest version of "F is for Fugitive" ever printed would still be a piece of crap book.

you must not own the piece. It is exquisitely executed.

That's like saying all Dylan covers are crap b/c they didn't write it. Well, Dylan can't sing for shit, and there are many covers of his songs that are better than the original. Just b/c the new artist didn't write it doesn't mean it is worthless.

Edit: Dylan = Bob Dylan. Damn kids. Get off my lawn.
