APs, I suppose.

There are small differences between the editions, but you can buy the regular from Dark City Gallery.

The regular AP has glitter blood which to me goes better with the regular than the variant. Plus more incorrect wording on the AP than the regular.
But too much $$ more for a bit of glitter.

A few thoughts:

* There's probably much more to the poster collecting community than just the USA... especially with this relatively new phenomenon of film posters
* The first of this series may be commanding top dollar and end up being a collector's item (more so than the other 8 upcoming posters)
* It may be that this entire series ends up being valuable

I always defer to someone who's wearing a beater, regardless of what else he's wearing.

I can't remember where but I read an interview with Malleus where they were saying these kinda posters weren't terribly popular in Europe and most of their business came from the US. They might've been referring to gig posters specifically though as screen printed work is obviously popular in a lot of places in the world.

The timing of their blog generally being around 6 PM EST is more in line with North America; much of Europe would be asleep by then.
Also their drop times are generally after even West coasters have already awakened.

Interesting... Since these posters are for movies that aren't even English speaking films, I thought there might be a significant non-US interest in the posters. But the drop times and such that have been cited above are good arguments in favor of a US focus for this stuff.

Rick you bring up a good point - how popular is Argento on his home soil compared to over here in the US? I don't know enough about him outside of the movies he has made.
I know he is incredibly loved by genre fans over here...

I know nothing about Argento, so when I saw this poster I checked out a 3 minute clip of the movie on YouTube. It was the sequence where the guy witnesses the murder, trapped in the glass vestibule. I then checked Wiki and saw that there were a few expanded re-release versions of the film with various differences. It looks like an interesting plot and film. I'm generally OK with subtitles on foreign language films, so I might snag this movie.

So The Bird With The Crystal Plumage (and most of Argento's films) are commonly referred to as Giallos (Itallian thrillers that adhere to a fairly strict set of common "rules"). Most of the Italian horror films coming out in the 70s and 80s were made specifically with US distribution and consumption in mind. A lot of directors even went so far as to set films in American cities even though they were clearly filmed in Italy. These films are Italian language in nature but have most commonly been viewed with english dubs. Some of them never even retained their original language tracks for distribution and were shown in Italy with Italian subtitles because the dub track was the only audio available. The soundtracks to some of Argento's films are considered some of the best ever made.
If you're into hyper stylized thrillers and don't mind graphic violence you're in for quite a treat if you haven't seen any of Argento's work. The Bird With The Crystal Plumage is an excellent place to start for sure.

My only question is - is he more popular here, or back home? Since he made giallos as popular as they were during that time period, I assume he is something of a national hero there, but really I have no idea.
