Both the large poster and the smaller art prints are giclees (on that same nice paper that Emek used for his other giclees). They are really vibrant in person. The art prints are mirror image of each other and one is the day scene pictured in the larger poster and the other is a night scene. I'll take some pics tomorrow.
By the way, they were hesitant to sell multiples (at least on day 3) because they wanted to make sure that there were enough for everyone there. I was there pretty early in the day and got #199/250.

Yeah. Emek said that there were too many colors to screen.

Can't wait to see these minis. They sound perfect for framing up.

So, how is it that Marq Spusta can do a 5-color screenprint (like the High Sierra hot air balloon poster), and say it is 5 colors when it looks like 30 colors? I know that red and yellow mix to make orange, etc, so that must be coming into play on the Spusta situation, but is there more to that? I ask in the context of the "too many colors to screen" comment.

I always defer to someone who's wearing a beater, regardless of what else he's wearing.

That High Sierra poster is a miraculous feat of screen printing.

Completely agree. I have both the Silver and Brown hanging next to each other and everyone that comes over comments on those. Then I blow their mind and tell them it's only 5 colors. It looks easily like 12+.
On the other hand I actually really like EMEK giclees.

Ween / Flaming Lips Morrison 06 EMEK = 14 colors/12 screens
Sigur Ros Morrison 08 EMEK = 14 screenprint
Coachella 07 EMEK = 13 colors (with 2 blends)
1000 printedDecemberists Amsterdam 07 EMEK = 11 color silkscreen

I also thought right away of the Spusta HSMF when I heard this. The Country Fair poster has lots of fades in different directions though as well and would be really tough to screen, unless you half-toned it...which I'm glad he didn't do. Anyway, like Gonzo, I really like Emek's giclees...especially since most of his output continues to be screen prints.
