I think those already familiar with Jeremy's work would not have jumped to the same conclusion. There's always a lot more going on than what the eye sees at first glance.
For instance when I noticed the ceiling looks like floorboards I immediately brought up Cafe alongside to see if the plaster work matched.It doesn't but to Jem's credit he has built a world where you can't rule out the possibility that one painting's floor may be another's ceiling.
