Anyone ever "read" The Mysteries of Harris Burdick by Chis Van Allsburg? It's a picture book with a caption tied to each image.

"Two weeks passed and it happened again."

Geddes work reminds me of that book in the best possible way.

My favorite non-cosmo yet! Outstanding detail.

OK, I already have that room full of Geddes... now I'll be expanding on out into the rest of the house.

This is great. My favorite Geddes and the first time I'll be trying on a drop of his! Quite excited!

to each their own. my wife and i both like it. she is still a bit in-between on The Street which is the only Geddes I have but she really liked this one. Which might mean The Street will be sold to fund a purchase for this one. We will see...

I think those already familiar with Jeremy's work would not have jumped to the same conclusion. There's always a lot more going on than what the eye sees at first glance.

For instance when I noticed the ceiling looks like floorboards I immediately brought up Cafe alongside to see if the plaster work matched. It doesn't but to Jem's credit he has built a world where you can't rule out the possibility that one painting's floor may be another's ceiling.

Wonder if the last of the Cafes will get snatched up whenever this drops. Much like The Street did when Adrift dropped.

oh my god it's so matrix. i can't figure it out and i need answers. like tad put it more simply, i think it takes amazing skill to draw the way Geddes does it just has zero appeal to me. i don't know if he explains his works and i'm not going to go dig for the answer. i bought a Geddes very early on long before the hype. i received it in the mail, looked at it with my wife and we both wondered why i had just purchased a print with an astronaut on the side of a building and another one floating in the air. moral of the story, it's awesome that most people enjoy his supremely talented artistry while only a smaller percentage appreciate the subject matter. having said all that, this discussion will only open the floodgates to flipping.

indeed it will. People that have no Geddes prior work are trying to flip Adrift, and soon this will follow. Flippers, save your money and buy mondo and obey releases.

Looks peaceful to me. The Cafe has an unsettling quality to it that's always drawn me to it. This one doesn't have that. It calms me. The breaking window looks violent, but she doesn't seem to mind at all.
