Question mark next to artist.

After a break I'm updating my collection and I see the image I uploaded was approved. So I can add my 3rd poster, An Evening with Amand Palmer & Neil Gaiman.

The band and artist details have a small question mark icon next to them. What does this represent? Is it missing data someone can can add? If so, how do I add it?

I checked the FAQ and didn't find anything in the forum but my ignorance may have led me to poor search terms.

you can click on the '?' to find out more info on the artist, band, etc. assuming there is info available

Thanks but in some cases there is no page. I submitted a poster for An Evening With Amanda Palmer and Neil Gaiman.

When you click on the artist for the poster it goes to http://expressobeans.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page.

Who would I send a note to about getting this corrected?

And if they are doing that there is an issue with an earlier entry for Dave Hunter (http://expressobeans.com/public/detail.php/132201). I have a key plate variant (http://gammalyte.com/blog/2011/09/23/ga ... continues/) and the problem is it's not listed in the many, many variants for this poster and I can't see how to add the variant.

There are some loose ends associated with a recent server change. This is one of them and we are aware of it.

Thanks for the reply.

Glad to know I was right on the error on the artist but ...

I missed that section on adding variants. My appologies and thanks for highlighting the entry.

So now I have an observation about the wiki for adding variants.

It's not clear that the "Add Similar Art" can be used to add variants. The wiki only mentions "Add Image".

This comes up as I have a variant to http://expressobeans.com/public/detail.php/129676 where the date and location are different and the edition is numbered. I don't believe a new image should be needed.

I'm not comfortable editing the wiki due to the style used. I'm willing to submit a suggested update if someone want's my input and vet it before posting.

Cutting to the specific example described in your post - you have a case where the date and location changed during the creation of a print (as opposed to a tour blank where somebody took a sharpie and wrote a date and venue on there by hand).

For this example, I would consider it a new piece of art and not a variant, so yes, "Adding Similar Art" is the right way to go. If you look up "EMEK Dave Matthews Band" or "Dylan Gans" in the search boxes, you'll see several examples of posters where the same image is recycled, but the date and venues are different. These are all unique posters made at different times for different audiences, and therefore unique entries.

Now, to the statement of

...it can, but to be honest, it's annoying. The approver has to create a new edition, download the image to their computer, upload the image to the existing art entry, assign it to the new edition, then reject the art submittal.

Adding a variant as a new image eliminates some of those steps. We just ask that you put things like edition quantities, prices, release dates, etc in the notes section so they can be added when the new drop-down box is created.
